To become Uganda’s leading digital platform for disability voices that drives real community action.
Compassion for the Disabled Uganda uses ethical storytelling to identify real needs of disabled persons and connect compassionate people to real action.

When stories inspire real action, they create a shared sense of joy and unity within the community. Seeing compassionate individuals step forward to support persons with disabilities brings renewed hope to those who may have felt forgotten and reminds everyone of the power of collective care. Each act of giving not only improves lives but also strengthens social bonds, fostering a culture where empathy, inclusion, and dignity are valued. In this way, supporting those with less hope becomes a source of pride and happiness for the entire community.

We believe the most authentic and effective way to understand the needs of persons with disabilities is to let them speak for themselves. When individuals share their own experiences, challenges, and aspirations in their own voices, their stories carry honesty, dignity, and clarity that no one else can replicate. This approach ensures that support is guided by real needs, promotes respect and independence, and places persons with disabilities at the center of decisions that affect their lives.

We welcome every Good Samaritan to join us in making a meaningful difference. Volunteers play a vital role by listening to the stories of persons with disabilities, praying for them, advocating for their inclusion, and offering support through donations and community action. As an organization, we are committed to reaching as many disabled individuals as possible, carefully documenting their stories and needs so that compassionate people who listen and care can step forward and take action.

Mugabi Gabriel is a Ugandan journalist and the Founder and Director of Compassion for the Disabled Uganda. His passion for disability advocacy began during his internship in film production, where he met many persons with disabilities in Kampala’s slum communities who felt unheard and lacked a platform to share their stories.
This experience inspired him to use media as a tool for social change. He founded Compassion for the Disabled Uganda to amplify their voices through storytelling and encourage community action, guided by the belief that when people speak for themselves, society is more likely to listen and respond.
